詳記: Der Ultimaker ist einer der ersten frei programmierbaren Drucker für den Heimgebrauch. Die einst teure 3-D-Drucktechnologie wurde ursprünglich für das Rapid Prototyping – das rasche Erstellen von Produktionsmustern – entwickelt. Mit ihr können maßgeschneiderte Produkte „on demand“ erzeugt werden. Mit dem Ultimaker entstehen verschiedene kleine Objekte, Werkzeuge und sogar Prothesen oder Modelle menschlicher Organe. The Ultimaker is one of the first freely programmable printers for domestic use. The once expensive 3-D printing technology was originally developed for rapid prototyping—the fast creation of production samples. This technology makes it possible to produce tailor-made products on demand. The Ultimaker creates various small objects, tools, and even prostheses or models of human organs.
