This book of wallpaper patterns by the Wiener Werkstätte, dated 1929, contains well-known designs by Mathilde Flögl and conveys a good impression of everyday sales work: pattern books like this one made it easier for Customers to make a choice from the great variety on offer. Many patterns were used both for wallpaper and for fabrics. Wallpaper was used by the Wiener Werkstätte for more than just walls; they also used it to line cabinets, for example. The Wiener Werkstätte Archive, since relocated to the MAK, contains numerous similar documents that illustrate the day-to-day practical work of this renowned producer.
