Die Ausstellung im MAK DESIGN SPACE präsentiert die Gewinner des von MAK & departure gemeinsam ausgeschriebenen Ideenwettbewerbs „Project Vienna – A Design Strategy. How to React to a City?“ Aus den mehr als hundert Einreichungen aus zwanzig Ländern wählte eine Fachjury drei Siegerprojekte, die durch ihre subversive Herangehensweise und hypothetischen Ansätze überzeugten. Klaus Stattmann entwickelte mit „A.R.S.A #01 – Architecture saves Austria” eine Sichtprothese für die Statue der Pallas Athene vor dem Parlament als Überwachungsmedium im Dienste der Bevölkerung. „UPgrading VIENNA“ von VERY Architects/ex.it-architektur entledigt sich alter Bausubstanzen und Sehenswürdigkeiten, indem sie in den Himmel gehoben werden und Platz für Neues schaffen. Marei Wollersberger / Jessica Charlesworth wiederum führen mit „Citizen Evolution“ die WienerInnen in die Autarkie und zeigen auf, welche urbanen Ressourcen einer Verwertung zugeführt werden könnten.
