The blossom of the plum (BAI/ume 梅) is a symbol of the beginning of spring, as it begins to bloom in the cold season. The plum blossom pattern is auspicious and represents longevity, endurance and prosperity of the descendants.
Gokaibishi 五階菱 (also: mizoguchibishi 溝口菱) is a diamond combination of 5 diamonds of different sizes.
Bamboo (CHIKU/take 竹) is valued for its straight and strong growth. Since its does not wither even in winter, it represents immortality and longevity or strength, but also purity.
