Description
    "Dyed ground" (jizomari 地染). Matsukawabishi 松皮菱 pattern is a combination of 3 diamonds; matsukawa 松皮 = pine-bark, bishi/hishi 菱 = diamond. Stencils for komon 小 紋 ("fine pattern") are mostly made in the drill cutting technic. The pattern of komon is not oriented in a specific direction and is so fine that it appears monochrome from a distance.
