Description
The Kelp Necklace is a signature 3D printed jewellery piece designed and digitally crafted by Julia Koerner. The design is inspired by the structure and intricate layering system of organic kelp found on the Malibu beaches. Julia utilised the point cloud of a 3D scan of dried kelp to 3D model the geometry with computational design techniques. The design is 3D printed in delicate flexible powder material utilising emergent technologies of additive manufacturing. The lace like pattern appears as it is naturally grown on the human body.
