Description
    gleiches Bild: vgl. BI 13217-26 Gekkō 月耕 Blatt aus einem Album mit Gekkōs Serie “Gekkō zuihitsu 月耕随筆”. Im Bild Endō Morito'o 遠藤盛遠, der im 12. Jahrhundert lebte. Die Legende besagt, dass er sich in die Ehefrau eines Samurais verliebt hatte, seine Gefühle aber nicht erwidert sah. Als er drohte, ihre ganze Familie umzubringen, stimmte die Angebetete zu, dass er nächtens heimlich ins Haus kommt, um ihren Mann umzubringen. Nachdem die Tat vollbracht war, erkannte Morito'o, dass er die Frau statt ihrem Ehemann ermordet hatte, weil sie sich an die Stelle ihres Ehemannes niedergelegt hatte. Tief berührt von ihrer Loyalität und Ergebenheit beschloss er fortan, ein Dasein als Mönch zu führen.
