More than one- fth of the world’s population is living without connection to electricity. This means, that there is no energy supply to run electronic devices. This includes fridges. Consequently, food and plants needed for a su cient and healthy diet perish quickly and are no longer available. TERRACOOLER is a universally usable ecological cooler. The double-walled, bell-shaped terracotta naturally cools and preserves food. The inside temperature is approximately 25 to 40 percent cooler than the outside temperature, resulting in the cooled products lasting up to ten times longer. The project was published online as “donationware,” the design is globally available for free.
