Für Lift („hochheben, hochziehen“) holte sich Marco Dessí Inspiration von der nautischen Klemme („nautical cleat“), einer einfachen kleinen Platte, die beim Segeln zum Fixieren von Seilen benutzt wird. Er nimmt die Fertigteile als Ausgangspunkt seines Designs. Ein geringes Gewicht – oft genügt das Gewicht der Lampe – spannt das Seil von der Decke und hält es eingeklemmt. Durch Anheben kann es aus der Klemme gelöst und die Länge des Seils verstellt werden. Lift ist auch eine Hommage an Achille Castiglionis Designansatz und seine legendäre Parentesi-Lampe.
For his lamp Lift designer Marco Dessí got inspired by the nautical cleat, a simple flat piece of metal used to fix the ropes when sailing. He uses this readymade part as a starting point for his design. A small weight—often the weight of a lamp is enough—spans the rope from the ceiling and secures it. By lifting it, the rope can be freed from the cleat and its length can be adjusted. Lift also pays homage to Achille Castiglioni’s design approach and his legendary Parentesi lamp.
