Description
"Dyed ground" (jizomari 地染). Tea ceremony equipment, e.g. tea caddy (cha ire 茶入れ), tea whisk (chasen 茶筅), cold water container (mizusashi 水指), ladle (hishaku 柄杓), etc. Stencils for komon 小 紋 ("fine pattern") are mostly made in the drill cutting technic. The pattern of komon is not oriented in a specific direction and is so fine that it appears monochrome from a distance.
