Description
    "Dyed ground" (jizomari 地染). The ginkgo is considered a symbol of vitality due to its tall growth and long life. Its fan-shaped leaves are also said to bring good luck and prosperity. Stencils for komon 小 紋 ("fine pattern") are mostly made in the drill cutting technic. The pattern of komon is not oriented in a specific direction and is so fine that it appears monochrome from a distance.
