ALICE EHMANN [verh. mar. Schöbel]
Keramikerin, *6.7.1905 Werdau, †18.10.1992 Krefeld. – 1923–25 Ausbildung an der Staatlichen Akademie für Kunstgewerbe in Dresden. 1926/27 in der Keramikabteilung der WW tätig. 1927 Gründung ihrer eigenen Werkstätte in Dresden. Kennzeichnung der Objekte mit dem zweizeiligen Stempel EHMANN KERAMIK. 1930 Heirat mit dem Keramiker Hans Schöbel. 1932 Eröffnung einer Werkstätte in Meißen, ehemals Porzellanfabrik Teichert. 1953 ging die Werkstätte als volkseigener Betrieb in den Besitz der Stadt Meißen über. E. führte sie unter der Firmenmarke VEB KERAMIK MEISSEN bis Anfang der 1970er Jahre.
Für die WW entwarf Alice Ehmann Keramiken (Gefäße, Figuren, Lampenfüße).

In 1927, she founded her own workshop in Dresden. She labeled her objects with the two-line mark EHMANN KERAMIK. In 1930, she married Hans Schöbel, a ceramicist. In 1932, opening of a workshop in Meißen, formerly porcelain manufactory Teichert. In 1953, the workshop became property of the city of Meißen as a socially owned company. E. continued to run it under the brand VEB KERAMIK MEISSEN until the early 1970s.
For the WW, Alice Ehmann designed ceramics (vessels, figures, lamp stands).
