Biografie: MEA ANGERER [Marie] Textilkünstlerin, Gebrauchsgrafikerin, *28.6.1905 Wien, †1978 London; röm.-kath. – Tochter des Mediziners Dr. Franz A. 1924– 28 Studium an der KGS bei Josef Hoffmann (FK Architektur) und Josef Frank (Baukonstruktionslehre). Plakatentwürfe für die Kunstschau 1927. Rund 20 Schmuckentwürfe im MAK zeugen von einer Zusammenarbeit mit dem Goldschmied Oscar Dietrich. 1928 Aufenthalt in London, Stoff entwürfe für die Firma Eton Rural Fabrics. 1929 Übersiedlung nach London, als Designerin für Textilien und Tapeten, u. a. für die Firmen Donald Brothers Ltd., Warner & Sons und Shand Kydd Ltd. tätig. In ihrem Teilnachlass im MAK sind neben Stoff- und Tapetenmustern Entwürfe für Schmuck und Gebrauchsgrafik (Plakate, u. a. für British Railways und British European Airways, Postkarten, Collagen, Zeitungscover etc.) überliefert. In 1928, residence in London, textile designs for the company Eton Rural Fabrics. In 1929, relocation to London, worked as a designer for textiles and wallpapers for the companies Donald Brothers Ltd., Warner & Sons, and Shand Kydd Ltd., among others. In her partial estate at the MAK, in addition to textile and wall paper patterns, jewelry and commercial art (posters, among others, for British Railways and British European Airways, postcards, collages, newspaper covers, etc.) have survived. Membership: National Register of Designers, Wiener Frauenkunst. For the WW, Mea Angerer designed various textile patterns during her education at the KGS.
