Ichiyūsai Kuniyoshiga 一勇齋國芳画
Gemeinsame Serie von Kuniyoshi, Hiroshige und Kunisada über die berühmte Gedichtsammlung „Hyakunin isshu 百人一首“ (Hundert Dichter mit hundert Gedichten). Im gelb gestreiften Feld oben das 49. Gedicht der Sammlung, geschrieben von Ōnakatomi no Yoshinobu 大中臣能宣 (922–991; einer der 36 Unsterblichen der Dichtkunst = sanjūrokkasen 三十六歌仙). Das Bild zeigt Kamiya Niemon (im Kabuki-Stück: Tamiya Iemon) und spielt auf die Geistergeschichte von Yotsuya an. In dieser Geschichte geht es um einen herrenlosen Samurai (rōnin 浪人), der sich in eine junge Nachbarin verliebt. Seine Ehefrau Oiwa kehrt nach ihrem Tod als Geist zurück. Im Bild erscheint sie als Geist in der Gestalt einer Laterne. Schon Hokusai verwendete dieses Motiv für seine Geisterserie.
